 The Audio and Speech Therapy Technology course is a two-year, full-time paramedical program that is designed to train individuals in the areas of hearing, language, and speech. The course is practical in nature and aims to produce Speech and Hearing Technicians who are able to perform routine clinical assessments and provide therapeutic management for various speech, language, and hearing disorders at the village, block, taluka, and town levels. To be eligible for the course, candidates must have completed their 10+2 or equivalent studies with a focus on Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. Upon completion of the course, individuals may pursue careers as Assistant Audio and Speech Therapy Technicians, Audiologists, Audiologist Technicians, or Audio and Speech Therapy Technicians. The course also provides the opportunity to pursue higher education in Audio and Speech Therapy Technology. With an ever-increasing demand for professionals trained in audio and speech therapy, this course provides a unique avenue for those looking to make a difference in the lives of individuals with debilitating hearing conditions.





This program covers theoretical aspects such as anatomy and physiology of hearing, acoustics, and speech perception; as well as practical applications such as fitting hearing aids and cochlear implants, audiometric evaluation techniques, diagnosis of auditory and speech disorders, remedial education techniques, aural rehabilitation programs, counseling of clients/patients with hearing disabilities, and many more.


The course also includes a significant amount of hands-on training in the laboratory to enable students to gain practical experience in the areas mentioned above. In addition to this, there are workshops and seminars conducted throughout the program to ensure that students remain up-to-date on new developments in audio and speech therapy technology.


The goal of this course is to provide a comprehensive understanding of a wide range of speech disorders, including those related to fluency and phonology. Participants will learn about the relationship between vocal mechanisms and hearing and how it affects speech, as well as various techniques for counseling patients and conducting tests as needed. The course is designed to give individuals the skills and knowledge they need to work effectively with patients who have speech disorders and to help them overcome their communication challenges.


The Audio/Speech disorders bachelor's degree is a three-year program that covers a wide range of topics related to speech and hearing disorders. The degree includes both Audiology and Speech Language Pathology tracks, and is designed to produce skilled professionals who are able to effectively work with patients experiencing these types of disorders. To be eligible for the course, students must have completed their class 12 studies with a focus on science and must have achieved a minimum of 55% marks. There are several exams that may be required for admission to colleges offering this degree, including IPU CET, NEET, and JAM. Upon graduation, individuals may pursue a variety of career opportunities, including positions as speech therapists, business development managers, clinical specialists, and more. The salary for a graduate of this program can range from INR 3L to INR 10L.
